We bought this exciting new company in 1997 and consulted with the strida bicycle’s designer Mike Sanders and together looked at how we could mass-produce this product and update the inner workings using bespoke plastic moulded components. We came up with an elegant solution in 1999 and the Strida 2 bike is now sold throughout the world.
The success of STRiDA Bicycles
This unique folding strida bicycle made from aluminium and glass filled plastic has won numerous awards since it was designed, including the 2002 British Design Council Millennium Award for creative and innovative products for the new century. The Strida also scooped up the Annual Design Award from I.D Magazine, the Pittman Innovation Award from the international Sail Magazine.
Strida bicycles have since gone on to appear in Channel 5’s The Gadget Show and won further accolades from the Taipei International Bike Show.
