Roland Plastics are located in Wickham Market, Suffolk in the UK and have been trading for over 30 years. We moved to our current purpose built site 18 years ago and have established an excellent reputation as moulders of the highest quality. We enjoy many well known brand names as customers and supply into a wide spectrum of industries including defence, medical, highways, drinks dispense, electronics, pneumatics, and marine.
We have two plants, both located on the same site, the most recent unit having been completed three years ago to build on the success of our Portapath flooring products. This building houses two 450 tonne presses, which in addition to allowing us a significant increase in capacity for Portapath, has also meant that we can now manufacture larger mouldings than in the past – up to 1.25kg. Installation of the new plant also allowed us to incorporate a silo for raw material storage and we buy 28 tonne lots direct from the continent in order to ensure our costs remain competitive.
Our main building houses a range of twenty two machines which are capable of producing mouldings from a few gms up to 800 gms, these being modern closed loop presses capable of producing highly detailed and accurate components.
We have our own on-site toolroom where we build new tools as well as maintaining customers own tooling free of charge.
Having gained an excellent reputation for the quality of our products, this is monitored by our Quality Department to ensure that these high standards are constantly maintained, and we currently hold BS EN ISO 9001-2008 certification valid until March 2012.
In addition to our plant and equipment facilities noted, we have a number of key personnel whose experience in injection moulding is immense, and it is these highly skilled individuals who add that extra dimension to our quality focus, and who ensure that we remain at the forefront of thermoplastic and thermoset injection mouldings technology in the UK.
